NEW!  The 11+ Creative Writing Club is designed for children in Years 4-6.  It offers your child the opportunity to develop their literacy in depth over three terms. This ‘Club’ is perfect for children sitting exams for top grammar and independent schools.

Over the academic year, your child will learn how to write both fiction and non-fiction in a fun and friendly online class.

The course syllabus has been designed so that the term’s content  builds on the work of the previous term. By the end of the year, your child a solid foundation in the creative writing skills they need for 11+ exams – and beyond!

In the Autumn Term, the focus is on building strong sentence structure, expanding vocabulary, using figurative language and literary techniques effectively, as well as developing accurate punctuation skills.

Your child will learn how to write a clearly structured short story based on a prompt (written and picture), create powerful descriptions and learn how to continue a story in the style of the author.

In the Spring Term, the focus shifts to non-fiction writing (letters, feature articles and speeches) and more advanced narrative and descriptive compositions.

The focus of the Summer Term is exam practice, revision tips and techniques of all the different texts your child has studied over the year.
