I’m Coriden Francis and I love teaching English. I’m passionate about sharing my love of all things literary while teaching the reading and writing skills that pupils need for exam success and beyond. In my spare time, I enjoy walking in the countryside, reading both children’s and adult fiction as well as writing my own.

I read English at Exeter College, Oxford  and I’ve been tutoring children for 11+/13+ entrance exams in English for over 20 years in west London, internationally and now online. I sat the 11+ a long time ago and went to The Godolphin & Latymer School in west London.

Currently, I offer one-to-one tuition English tuition to children preparing for competitive entrance exams. In addition, I teach creative writing and reading comprehension to children in Years 4-8 in small groups online. 

My students have been offered places and scholarships at all the most selective day and boarding schools in the UK: Eton, Harrow, Wycombe Abbey, Winchester, St Paul’s Girls, North London Collegiate, St Paul’s, Godolphin & Latymer, HABS, Hampton, King’s College Wimbledon, Latymer Upper, Merchant Taylor’s, Westminster Under  and London 11+ Consortium Schools.

I have considerable experience of teaching children whose first language is not English as well as holding a CELTA qualification.

I have been through both the 11+ and 13+ exams myself with my own children. Consequently, I have a first-hand understanding of how stressful this process can be. I am a firm believer that excellent teaching and a balanced outlook really do enable children to fulfil their potential.
